How does Nu Image make the magic happen? Easy: it’s all down to the people. This team has been built over 18 years (woah) to include hardworking and passionate individuals with different talents, expertise, and experiences, coming together to form the powerhouse agency that we are.
Whether you’re coming on board with us, still making your decision, or you’re already a client and want to get to know us better, these meet the team posts are for you. Over the next few months, we’ll be introducing every member of the Nu Image team, giving you the chance to learn what makes them tick.
As the content writer, it makes sense for me to go first while I wait for the rest of them to hurry up and get their answers over to me. Many of our existing digital clients know me, and if you’re thinking of joining us for digital, chances are we’ll be introduced. In this post, we’re going to talk about what I do, why I do it, and what I did at the 2023 Christmas party.
Tell us about yourself
I’m Lauren, I’m Nu Image’s content and communications exec. I love the outdoors, walking, hiking, swimming, going to the beach in any season, writing, reading, and eating a good mac and cheese. Outside of work I’m either having brunch, walking and thrifting with friends, or playing video games with my cat on my lap. I also volunteer monthly to litter pick in a local woodland. I’m a bit of a people person, so I love socialising (unless it’s after 9pm, which is my bedtime).

Tell us about your role
As the content and communications executive, it’s my job to write and share. I can split it into two halves:
- Content – I write a whole host of content for my clients, depending on what they need. I write blog posts for every client, but I also write site copy, social copy, announcements, external articles, and various other little written bits. I proofread coworker and client work, too. All my blog posts need to be optimised, relevant, in-depth, and well-written, as they go on the clients’ websites and contribute towards their SEO strategy. I create content strategies in line with the marketing exec’s strategy, do blog audits, and keep an eye on the content climate.
- Communications – This covers PR and outreach. I write articles and posts to be shared externally, such as newspapers or other websites, all pointing back to the client to help build their profile. I go to networking events, enter clients into relevant awards, help organise events, respond to journo requests on behalf of clients, and anything else that can support their digital growth.

What do you enjoy about what you do?
I love getting to write every day. I’ve always loved writing (I distinctly remember writing several ‘books’ about mermaids on the school’s Windows 95 desktop during lunchtimes), so getting to do it for my job is a lot of fun. I’m a big fan of learning, and as I have to write for so many different industries and topics, researching plays a big part in my day-to-day, which I love.
Do you face any challenges in your role? How do you overcome them?
I know I just said that I love writing every day, but there is the occasional day when writer’s block hits hard. This is frustrating, seeing as writing is my literal job, and it means I have to put whatever written work I’m doing on pause for the day for the sake of its quality and the client’s time. I combat these days by letting myself have a day of admin and organisation to reset my brain, or by focusing entirely on outreach. A little break is all I need, then I’m back to writing again the next day.
What’s the most satisfying part of your role?
Nothing makes me happier than when a client replies to a blog post email with ‘great work, Lauren’. Honestly, I just love knowing that I’ve written something good enough that they’ve enjoyed it as an expert in their niche. It shows that my research and effort have paid off, which is super satisfying.
Got any favourite work memories?
Way too many! The 24-hour event we did for the charity The Feed was incredible, despite feeling delirious at the time from lack of sleep. Another favourite moment is when Mia broke the handle off the studio’s announcement bell on her very first use of it.

Both Christmas parties I’ve attended were so much fun, despite an ill-advised performance of the worm on a bowling lane which is forever immortalised on video… and when I say ill-advised, I mean ill-advised by myself because it was my idea. Last year’s murder mystery party was the best, though. I love Christmas Buffet Day, where we all bring in dishes to share and Secret Santa gifts and we do a fun yearly round-up quiz and presentation. Every day here there’s something to laugh about, making it easy to come in each morning.
